Recognizing Concussion and Head Injury
Whatever the scenario may be the aftermath is similar; an athlete who blacked out, or who got stunned, or who got dazed. The period from a concussion to recovery is quick, lasting within seconds, or a few minutes.
The athlete usually recovers but asked to sit out for the rest of the activity. In some cases, immediate medical treatment is sought in the nearest medical facility or an emergency room.
By the time, these youngsters see their primary practitioners, usually a day or two later; they are asking for a sport clearance note so that they can resume their activities. Only a few will admit to any lingering symptoms.
